Biography

Ok, the year is 2000 and four boys in the small town Nyköping get together in the Athletic Club (now de-funct in/famous punkrock club) to see some bands and at the same time maybe get something to drink while nervously eyeing girls from a dark corner. Giving up all hope on the girls they start talking about music and soon discover that they have, not only similar taste but also the ability to manoeuvre the basic instruments for starting a band.

Young, angry and still going through the late adolescence they try to play as fast as furious they can and four tracks get released on a split 7” with the other Nyköping act Local Oafs on CMF Records. After hitting their heads in walls for a while they soon calm down a bit and start to develop another side of their music spectra. Influenced by the Teengenerate and Spaceshits sound they record a couple of songs that end up as 7” EP on P.Trash Records and a self titled full length LP on Rockin Bones Records.
Before going on their first European tour they became offered to record and release a split 7” on P.Trash Records. This ended up becoming a second full length LP called Epileptic and the year is now 2004. With two LP’s being released with only 3 months between them The Manikins went on tour only to experience some bad and some good tasting local beers and two robberies on the same night in England (the band has to this point still not returned to the land of King Henries and Thatchers).
Though, coming home in chock, the boys soon went to another tour together with French surfmasters Hawaii Samurai this time only losing a videocamera.
Having a couple of EP’s out the band now want to make a new album and this time their studio, Omega had broke down so they turn to Stefan Brändström a.k.a Junk E Male and his studio The Dustward. Spending some weekends in Stockholm resulted in Lie, Cheat And Steal LP/CD being released on P.Trash Records 2005.
Some tours followed the release and The Manikins became more and more of a “must see” live act. Spain, France, Germany and Finland all got their fair share of treble guitars and broken microphones and the boys are slowly starting to think about the next album.
With an idea of not repeating themselves too much they rehearse and write new songs in a slow tempo, making sure hat they will record their best album yet. Once again they turn to Stefan Brändström and The Dust Ward and after a year of recording, writing and arguing the Crocodiles album gets released on P.Trash Records in Europe and now also by Full breach Kicks in the US. With a poppier sound than ever The Manikins are now relaxing reading reports and reviews on how good record they have done . . .
